New Delhi: The purpose of Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the Pahalgham attack on April 22, is that if there are terrorist attacks, India will work against criminals, supporters, financers and ambassadors, external affairs minister S Jaishankar said on Wednesday. During the Washington Press Conference on Wednesday, Jaishankar insisted, “What is important for us in the quad statement, as well as the statement that the Security Council released on April 25, is that the criminals of terrorism should be held accountable. They should be brought for justice.”He further said, “And this is important because we have to communicate with the world then. So that message, I think, was expressed with great clarity. ,Quad Foreign Minister – Jaishankar, US State Secretary Marco Rubio, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, and Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Ivea – issued a joint statement, condemning terrorism and extremism including activities from across the border.He strongly condemned the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahgam, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in 26 casualties.The joint statement urged Swift justice for those responsible people: “We bring for justice for criminals, organizers and financials of this condemnable act for justice and urge all UN member states, to actively support all relevant officers in this regard, according to their obligations under international law and relevant UNSCRS.The press statement of the United Nations Security Council condemned the Pahalgam attack, emphasizing accountability for criminals, organizers, financers and sponsors.Members of the Security Council insisted on holding responsible people responsible for the murders.Operation vermilion was India’s reaction to target the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, claimed by Pakistan’s Front (TRF), which was associated with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (late).Jaishankar discussed the challenges of terrorism for a long time in India for decades, which confirmed India’s strong response and right to self -defense with Quad counterparts and global partners.Beyond the quad discussions, Jaishankar held productive bilateral meetings with Rubio, reviewing recent development and future plans, covered business, technology, defense, security, energy and dynamics.
