Syria to help detect missing Americans: Administration to us

Damascus: New Syrian officials have agreed to find the United States and help the Americans return to those who went missing in a war -torn country, an American messenger said on Sunday.The US Special Envoy for the Syrian Tom Barrack wrote on X, “The new Syrian government has agreed to assist the USA in and return the USA citizens or their remains.”He said, “The families of Austin Tice, Mammaz, and Kayla Muller should be closed,” he said, who had gone missing or killed during the devastating civil war of Syrians burst in 2011.The US-Syrian relations have steadily improved as former President Bashar al-Assad was uprooted in an Islamic invasive in December, a diplomatic freeze of more than a decade.Tice was working as a freelance journalist for France-Press, Washington Post and other outlets when detained at a checkpoint in August 2012.The Syrian-American psychiatrist is believed to have died after being detained under the Assad government in 2017.Muller was a support activist kidnapped by the Islamic State Group, who announced his death in February 2015, saying he was killed in Jordan’s air strike, which was a disputed claim by US officials.The announcement occurred a day after the United States formally lifted the restrictions on Syria, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the pre -frightening relations between the two countries.Barrack said, “President (Donald) Trump has made it clear that bringing home USA citizens or with respect, their remains are a major priority everywhere,” said Barrack, which also serves as an US ambassador to Turkey.“The new Syrian government will help us in this commitment,” he said.Regarding the talks between the two countries, a Syrian source told the AFP that there were 11 other names in the list of Washington, all those Syrian-American.The formal lifting of US sanctions also took place with new Syrian officials, in which cross-border drugs and people’s smuggling to cross their internal ministry, as they want to improve relations with the West.Lifting the restrictions paves the way for the efforts to rebuild in the war-resulting country, where the authorities are relying on foreign aid to help increase the huge cost of reconstruction.The Syrian Foreign Ministry on Friday welcomed the lifting of Washington’s sanctions, calling the move “a positive step in the right direction to reduce human and economic conflicts in the country”.
