Taiwan Tension: US House pass detection bill; If China invades, CCP threatens to highlight the property of the elite

In a strong bilateral step with the aim of preventing a possible Chinese attack on Taiwan, the US House of Representatives on Monday passed the Taiwan Conflict Prevention Act, a law that tries to highlight the financial assets and corruption of the apex Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, if the Beijing wage war on the self-conscious island.The bill introduced by Republican Lisa McClen and Democrat Brad Sharman in February targets members of the CCP’s Polit Bureau Standing Committee and other senior Chinese officials involved in Taiwan-related matters. If enacted, it will instruct the US Treasury Department to publicly disclose financial holdings and offshore property of these officers and their immediate family members.According to the news agency CNA, the Bill gave a mandate to the Treasury Secretary to publish a report identifying a report to financial institutions and senior Chinese authorities and ban the major transactions involving their family members. It is necessary to provide a public summary of this report on Treasury platforms in both English and Chinese.“The bill communicates a clear and bilateral warning: CCP wages against Taiwan should be fought, there will be results,” McClen said during the bill’s voice vote, as quoted by news agency ANI. “We are discussing real, targeted tasks against corrupt CCP nobles, their financial activities and offshore accounts are being revealed and the Chinese is being made accessible to the public”, McClen said.McClen also underlined the importance of Taiwan in global supply chains, especially its role as a semiconductor and a democratic ally. “The United States cannot be in front of increasing Chinese aggression,” he said, “he said, given that regional peace in Indo-Pacific directly affects American economic and strategic interests.The bill now goes to the Senate before approaching the Senate, before it is signed by the President in the law.
