Taiwan Tension: US House pass detection bill; If China invades, CCP threatens to highlight the property of the elite

In a strong bilateral step with the aim of preventing a possible Chinese attack on Taiwan, the US House of Representatives on Monday passed the Taiwan Conflict Prevention Act, a law that tries to highlight the financial assets and corruption of the apex Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, if the Beijing wage war on the self-conscious island.The bill introduced by Republican Lisa McClen and Democrat Brad Sharman in February targets members of the CCP’s Polit Bureau Standing Committee and other senior Chinese officials involved in Taiwan-related matters. If enacted, it will instruct the US Treasury Department to publicly disclose financial holdings and offshore property of these officers and their immediate family members.According to the news agency CNA, the Bill gave a mandate to the Treasury Secretary to publish a report identifying a report to financial institutions and senior Chinese authorities and ban the major transactions involving their family members.
