Tamil actor Krishna was called and questioned by the Chennai police on 23 June, a few days after the arrest of actor Srikanth, and was interrogated by the Chennai Police in connection with the investigation of an ongoing drug abuse. This investigation is part of a comprehensive investigation to determine whether more names from the Tamil film industry are included in the cocaine case.According to the Hindu, Krishna appeared before the police for preliminary investigation at Nungambakkam police station on Wednesday, at the same place where Srikanth was questioned before the arrest. According to officials, the summons of Krishna, one of the accused in the case, was based on a confession made by Pradeep Kumar.Krishna refuses to use drugs, claims allergies and heart conditionsDuring interrogation, Krishna allegedly refused to consume or keep any drug, saying that he has a serious allergy to drugs since 2018 and is currently undergoing treatment for heart conditions. He also told the police that when he is a friend with Srikanth, he has no connection with the alleged drug supplier Pradeep Kumar.A senior police officer confirmed Krishna’s statements and said the investigation would include a medical examination and the discovery of the actor’s residence for any possible evidence of the occupation of the drug.How the case of cocaine came to lightThe current case arises from a police raid on 17 June, during which 38 -year -old Pradeep Kumar (aka Prado) of Salem and 38, a national, 38, 11 grams of Ghana were caught with cocaine. After his arrest, Pradeep informed the police that drugs were supplied to a former AIADMK worker, who allegedly sold cocaine to actor Srikanth.Srikanth was arrested on 23 June after verifying these claims during interrogation. The case was initially triggered by a conflict between two groups in Nungambakkam region of Chennai on 5 May, causing deep investigation and several arrests.As the investigation is on, officials are now investigating whether more actors or public figures may be connected to the drug network.
