Dhami leads with bold reforms: UCC and anti-chitting laws set national models; Reservation restored for state workers. Bharat News

New Delhi: Uttarakhand’s youngest Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has set a strong record of taking bold decisions and implementing them effectively. In his four-year tenure so far, he has left an imprint at the national level through the Landmark trick, like the implementation of The Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Anti-Criting Act and the opposing conversion law. He has also gained recognition within the state as a person-centric leader by resetting reservation in government jobs for the agitation workers of Uttarakhand state.
Anti -partisan rules
To break the Nexus for cheating the mafis in government recruitment examinations, the Dhami government implemented a strict law from February 2023, which was titled Uttarakhand Competitive Examination (Measures for Prevention and Prevention of unfair means in recruitment) Act, This law has become a model for the country. Since its implementation, the recruitment examination in Uttarakhand has been conducted transparent and on time. Earlier, it took an average of two to three years to complete the recruitment processes; Now they are concluding within a year. The law determines life imprisonment for those who facilitate leaks, cheating, or use improper means. It also includes a fine of up to Rs 10 crore and provisions to confiscate the property of criminals.
First state to implement UCC
On 27 January 2025, Uttarakhand became the first state in independent India to implement Uniform Civil Code. Since its introduction, more than two lakh registrations under the new civil code system have already been completed.
Law for recovery of damage from rioters
To control uncontrolled elements that damage public and private property during riots, attacks and protests, Dhami Sarkar implemented Uttarakhand Public and Private Property Damage Recovery Act In 2024. Under this law, individuals were found guilty of harmful assets during marketing, which is necessary to compensate for damage at market rates.
Strict gangster act
The state government has made significant amendments to the Gangster Act, which bring crimes like cow slaughter, human trafficking, child labor, bonded labor, examination fraud and money laundering under its scope. A difficult law has also been introduced against forcible religious conversions, with a fine of up to Rs 50,000 on non-bailable imprisonment and sentence of up to Rs 50,000.
Reservation for state movement workers
The government has restored 10% horizontal reservation in government jobs for those who participated in the movement of Uttarakhand state. Chief Minister Dhami resolved long -term legal complications around the issue and successfully passed a long pending bill in the assembly. The law has been effectively effectively enacted from 11 August 2004, which validate all the previous appointments of eligible workers for the services and posts of the state government.
