Thane Power Couple: Independence Day celebrates the decades of honor service; Superintendent pair to receive President’s police medal. Bharat News

In a recognition for a couple working in one of the most difficult workplaces in Maharashtra, a spouse of Thane Central Jail has been nominated among eight personnel to receive the prestigious police medal among eight personnel of the state jails. The announcement was made on Thursday, when the central government declared a service medal for 1,090 police personnel of various central and state forces on the eve of Independence Day. An official said that in the Maharashtra list, Rani Bhosle, the Superintendent of Thane Central Jail and her husband Rajaram Bhosle, are an additional superintendent in the same facility. The couple has been awarded the President’s medal for meritorious service, in the recognition of their decades-dedication in front of the challenging environment of the jail. Other recipients of the state jails include Gajanan Kashinath Sarod, Deputy Superintendent, Mumbai Central Jail; Sanjay Gangaram Shivgan, Sabdar, Mumbai Central Jail; Sudhakar Omkar Chavan, Havildar, Mumbai Central Jail; Rajesh Madhukar Sawant, Constable, Baykula District Jail; Sanjay Sadashiv Jadhav, Constable, Baykula District Jail; And Vidya Bharat Dhamere, Jail Constable, Kolhapur Central Jail. Additional Director General of Police (Jail and Reform Services) Suhas Warake said, “The integrity and devotion to the duty of the award winners had set a benchmark for all in the department.”According to the Union Home Ministry, 233 personnel have been awarded a medal (GM) for valor, 99 have received a medal for the post of Special Service (PSM) for the presidency and 758 has been awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM).
