Kolhapur: A 75 -year -old woman from Pachgaon village in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra died on Kovid -19 at CPR Hospital on Sunday after four days of treatment. Hospital officials confirmed that the patient had diabetes and died of complications arising from Kovid.Reports were revealed about the Panchganga cremation workers who refused to handle the woman’s body. However, the Chief Health Inspector of Kolhapur Municipal Corporation, Dr. Vijay Patil denied the claims.“The cremation staff wearing a PPE kit, demonstrated the funeral of the woman after all the safety protocols. Earlier there were two waves of Kovid. Even in those important situations, the cremation staff bravely demonstrated their duties. People are requested not to spread rumors, “said Dr. Patil.Kovid cases are again increasing across the country with the highest number of reporting in Kerala and Maharashtra. Health officials said the virus is less serious now, they recommend to take public precautions. Currently, the Health Department website is a nationwide report of 3,758 active covid cases.
