Kamat gave this development to the central government’s self -sufficient India and made India’s initiative, which has promoted domestic manufacturing and reduced dependence on imports.Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has appreciated the achievement as a clear indicator of India’s growing defense industrial base, in which defense public sector undertakings have contributed 23 percent for 77 percent of total production and private firms.Kamat said that interest is coming from Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa, and that India’s self -reliance in defense manufacturing is now not only a strategic goal, but a need, as outlined by recent struggle with Pakistan.
