Gurgaon: A video of OP Jindal University in Sonipat – the specialty of a girl who got out of a suitcase like a magician’s escape went viral on social media, many described it as a boy’s ‘Romeo -end -juliet’ style, which tries to trafficking her love in her hostel. The university said that it had gone far away and was taking action against the students, the report of Anjali Singh.
Although the video – which surfaced on Saturday – no boy shows it, university sources said that it was actually entered the girls’ hostels.
It was not immediately clear whether this suitcase was associated with the incident.
According to Anju Mohan, director of communication at the university, the video shows a group of students transferring his friend around the hostel in a large suitcase as part of a “light-felk” joke.
“It was a mischief, which was entirely limited to the girls’ hostel premises. The suitcase was taken to a public sector within the hostel, where security personnel monitoring CCTV footage noted the suspicious activity and intervened. When they opened the suitcase, they found a girl.”
With a distant spread video – and attracting a volley of reactions – the university promised disciplinary action against each student involved in ‘mischief’. On Saturday evening, the students received a show-causing notice, asking them to appear before a disciplinary committee by the end of this month.
The university emphasized that student security remained the highest priority. “We are treating the matter seriously. While no one was harmed, such tasks could increase safety concerns and unexpected results,” a statement said.
The university also urged the people to share the “inconvenient information” and honor the “privacy and dignity” of the students involved.
But through the day, the video made a mixture of reactions on social media.
Many were hurried to criticize strict sanctions that forced the couples to resort to such extreme measures. One user wrote, “In this country, people who need to go in length to get some private time with their loved ones in this country are so inhuman.”
Others took a mild approach. “On the bright side, he survived,” one posted it. Some could not oppose the jokes at the risks involved. “Itha Bada Risk Kaun Leta Hai?” One commented, asking why the couple did not opt for an affordable hotel instead.
