The government has 4% central housing which is for persons with disabilities in push for inclusive development. Bharat News

New Delhi: The Center on Thursday announced 4% reservation in the allocation of central government housing for people with disabilities.The government said that this “initiative reflects the government’s dedication to the empowerment of every citizen and also strengthens the foundation of an inclusive and accessible India.,The ministry said in a statement, “Saba Sixty, Saba Vikas’s inspiration from the Prime Minister’s point of view and the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, confirming the commitment to equal opportunities for all citizens under Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan, Manohar Lal has taken a historic step towards inclusive rule.”The ministry said that the Estate Directorate has issued a notice to ensure proper access to the residence of the Central Government for people with disabilities, in accordance with the rights of the rights of the Disabled persons (RPWD) Act, 2016.Officials said the policy aims to ensure dignity, equity and access to public services and reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to empower all citizens with special requirements.

What is Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan?

Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan, also known as an Accessible India campaign, is a nationwide initiative launched by the Central Government on December 3, 2015 with the aim of creating accessible information and communication technologies for public place, transport system and disabled persons.The campaign is implemented by the Department of Empowerment of persons with disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.Through the Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan, which is an important step towards meeting the vision of an inclusive society, the government’s purpose is to promote universal access and try to participate equally in all aspects of life to empower people with disabilities.
