New Delhi: A three-judge inquiring panel’s daming report to CJI Sanjeev Khanna has confirmed that on March 14, a large amount of cash was found in a store at the Tughlaq Crescent residence of Justice Yashwant Verma, it is revealed that on the contrary, the judge’s loud claim is denied.The report repeated the repeated statements by Justice Verma, claiming innocence about the discovery of money from a room within his official residence. Videos and photos given by the Police Commissioner to Delhi HC CJ were handed over to CG Khanna on March 20, six days after the incident.Delhi HC CJ remained unrelated to the defense of Justice Verma and told CG Khanna that “the whole matter warns a deep investigation”. The CJI formed the inquiry panel on 22 March and the SC Collegium returned the Allahabad HC to Nyaya Verma on the same day, with the instructions that they have not been given any judicial work.The inquiry panel also examined the call data records of Justice Verma’s phone. In his response, Justice Verma said, “I unevenly explain that any cash was never placed in that storeroom by my or any member of my family and strongly condemns the suggestion that the alleged cash was for us. It is a lot of consideration or suggestion that this cash was kept or stored by us.” He also said that after arriving from Bhopal on the evening of 15 March, he inspected the storeroom and found no cash there.He remained with refusal even when video and burning cash photos were uploaded on the official website of SC. Justice Verma said, “I was completely shocked to see the contents of the video because something was painted on the site as I saw it. It inspired me to see that it clearly appeared as a conspiracy to frame and dismiss me,” Justice Verma said.
