Jaipur: Tigress T -84, known as Earohed, arose for fame as a fearless crocodile hunter, breathed his last on Thursday near Jogi Mahal in the Ranthmbore Tiger Reserve. The 11 -year -old Tigress, who carried forward the legacy of his prestigious grandmother Machali, was struggling with bone tumors for several months.A senior forest official said: “The body of T -84 was cremated in Rajbagh in Tiger Reserve. Many people, including wildlife photographers, who had documented their journey, nature guides and wishers, gathered to pay their final honors. The crematorium was done on March 18, 2013 as per NTCA Protocol.”Earohed was first seen in March 2014, after being born from Krishna (T -19) and Star Purush (T -28), the legendary Bagres was descendants of Machali (T -16), who earned a ‘crocodile killer’ for equal courageous hunting. He was named ‘Erohed’ due to a specific arrow -shaped mark on his left cheek. With his brother -in -law, lightening and packman, he grew up in the core forest of Ranthmbore. She was especially famous for her ability to kill crocodiles – an extraordinary achievement that attracted amazement.A cancer tumor on Erohede’s Hind leg eventually overthrew his hunting skills, which by the forest authorities introduced him, and his three cubs, live fodder.
