‘The situation in Gaza is completely disappointing’: The Swedish PM urged the European Union to suspend the business relations with Israel; Call for unrestricted humanitarian aid

Sweden on Thursday urged the European Union to suspend his trade agreement with Israel, citing Israeli’s works during the ongoing war in Gaza on Thursday.Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Christson said in a post on X, “The situation in Gaza is completely disappointing, and Israel is not fulfilling the agreements about its most basic obligations and humanitarian aid.,

He called upon the European Union to freeze the business component of the Association Agreement at the earliest and urged the Israeli government to allow unrestricted humanitarian aid in Gaza.

The Association Agreement of the European Union with Israel determines the outline for trade and political relations. According to European Union data, the block is the largest trading partner in Israel, which is about one third of its total trade.Christson’s comment follows a uniform position taken by the Netherlands earlier this week.
