The girl’s students and friends claimed that she had filed complaints threatening to manipulate mental harassment, misconduct and her internal marks in her educational performance, until she gave her sexual demands.The minister described the incident as “unfortunate” and confirmed that HOD and Principal of the college had been suspended, while the accused teacher is in police custody.He said, “This is a very unfortunate matter, and we are working with it in a very sensitive manner. First, the head of the department and principal have been suspended, and the accused has been taken into police custody,” he further said.On Saturday, the Odisha Higher Education Department established a committee to investigate allegations of harassment against Assistant Professor Sameera Kumar Sahu in the college after an attempt to self-instill the student.Balasore SP Raj Prasad confirmed the arrest of the accused, stating that preliminary evidence supports the case. He said, “In the case of a female student, who tried self-suit, Prima Feshi evidence has been established against a teacher. She has been arrested and sent to court. The student lodged a complaint with the Internal Compliance Committee on 30 June.”“We are inquiring about the findings of his report. Anyone who is found guilty will be fixed for them,” he said.The Higher Education Department later suspended both the Assistant Professor and Principal after the incident.
