‘The US stood firmly with India’: Shashi Tharoor -led delegation meets top US authorities; Discussion Operation Sindoor | Bharat News

New Delhi: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, while leading an all-party parliamentary delegation in the United States, informed the major US authorities on the increasing threat of cross-border terrorism, along with a strong counter-reaction of the country through India and Operation Sindoor. According to an official statement issued by the Embassy of India in the US, the delegation met the state Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau and held extensive talks on regional security and Indo-American bilateral cooperation.The delegation informed the American officer about the April 22 terror attack in Pahgam, killing 26 people and injuring several, and on May 7 prepared the outline of the post -India military operation. The embassy said in a statement, “The delegation informed him on the heinous terrorist attack at the initiative, discussed the post -India Operation Sindoor, and the firm of India pledged to focus on cross -border terrorism in all its forms.”The statement said that the Deputy Secretary of the state confirmed India’s “strong support” to the United States in his fight against terrorism. Discussions also included avenues to deepen cooperation between the two countries in areas of shared interest.Tharoor also engaged with members of the American Senate Foreign Relations Committee. In separate meetings with Senator Chris Van Hollen and a phone call with Senator Corey Booker, the delegation shared insight on India’s security challenges and military functions. BJP MP Tejashwi Surya posted on X after the meeting, “Senator Van Hollen expressed deep sympathy for India and confirmed that America was strongly standing in the fight against terrorism.”Congress MP Tharoor also said on X that he had a “hot and productive” conversation with Senator Corey Booker. Tharur wrote, “Undered the repeated provocation of terrorism coming from across the border, determined the details of Operation Sindoor, and emphasized India’s determination in combating any future acts of terrorism.”The delegation participated in a special dinner organized by the Indian Ambassador, where former envoy Taranjit Singh Sandhu said on X, “The ambassador’s dinner was happy to meet such old friends and supporters of the Indo-US partnership.”Tharoor also addressed American media at the National Press Club in Washington in a session run by Indian-American journalist Poonam Sharma. “A vibrant session … stretched a wide range of issues related to Operation Sindoor and India’s functions against terrorism,” he wrote.The all-party delegation consists of MPs from various political parties: Shambhvi Chaudhary (Lok Janskati Party), Sarfaraz Ahmed (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha), GM Harish Balarya (TDP), Shashank Mani Tripathi, Tejasvi Surya, and Bhabhanswar, and Milind Deora, and Milind Deora, former Indian AM, Tatra Tariyas Singh Sandhu.India launched Operation Sindoor as a direct response to the Pahalgam attack, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir. More than 100 terrorists associated with groups such as Jai-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Tiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen were killed.
