New Delhi: A day after the new launch Vande Bharat train for Farooq Abdullah, the head of Katra, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference from Srinagar, visited Vaishno Devi Shrine and prayed on Wednesday.The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir said, “I had a good vision and I hope we will receive what I prayed. We want prosperity, unity, brotherhood. We all want India to grow so that we can be a part of it.”Farooq Abdullah also praised Vande Bharat Train Service, calling it the “biggest gift” to the people of Jammu and Kashmir as it combines the region with the whole country. “This is the biggest gift to connect Jammu and Kashmir to the whole country … When I crossed the Chenab Bridge, I had tears in my eyes. Finally, the day has arrived when we can travel from Kashmir to the country by train. I would like to congratulate all the workers and engineers who built this bridge … ”he said.Abdullah Novam (Srinagar) arrived at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra railway station on Tuesday after boarding the Vande Bharat train from the railway station. Talking to reporters, the NC chief said that after crossing the Chenab Bridge of the train, his eyes were “tears”. In particular, the world’s highest railway Arch Bridge, Chenb Bridge, stands as a milestone project for Indian Railways, which was completed after years of overcoming challenges in the Himalayan region.TeaHe connects two Vande India expressed trains, directly Jammu Division with Kashmir from Katra railway station sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 6 June. The new service reduces the time of travel between Katra and Srinagar to about three hours, saving two to three hours compared to the current options. The 1,315 m long steel structure has been engineered to withstand seismic activity and strong winds.Vande Bharat Train Service, Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) is part of the project, which is a 272-km-lambi corridor built at a cost of about Rs 43,780 crore. The project has 36 tunnels spread over 119 km and 943 bridges, which enable all-visits, seamless rail connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of India. This is expected to revolutionize regional mobility and make significant contribution to socio-economic integration.Expressing his happiness over the train service, Abdullah told the news agency Annie, “I am very happy with the train service that has started. More people will come to receive the darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi, and it will also help tourism.”
