Former Indian cricketer Piyush Chawla expressed confidence in India’s new Test squad for his upcoming five-match England tour while attending the engagement ceremony of Indian cricketer Rinku Singh along with Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj in Lucknow on 8 June.Chawla said about the England tour squad, “They are not very experienced internationally, but they have played a lot of cricket and know how to deal with the circumstances. Things will be better.”The England Test series, starting from June 20, marks the start of the ICC World Test Championship of India 2025-27 and introduces a new era under the captaincy of Shubman Gill after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s retirement.The Indian testing squad consists of Shubman Gill as captain and Rishabh Pant as vice-captains, as well as Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudarshan, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah as well as other people.Regarding Rinku Singh’s engagement, Chawla congratulated him and said, “My best wishes to both of them.”Former Indian cricketer Praveen Kumar, who also attended the ceremony, shared his views: “The ceremony was good.
