Daily Mail said that 62 -year -old advisory gynecologist Dr. Premila Thampi was suspended after accusing a mother of threatening to agree to the use of Dorseps, as she was giving birth to her first child in the NHS maternity unit, Daily Mail. The incident took place in 2016 at Milton Keins University Hospital. In the medical practitioners Tribunal Service in Manchester, who heard both parties, Dr. Thampi was found guilty of serious professional misconduct and ordered to be suspended for three weeks. The patient said that she pleaded with a caesarean section as she was unable to push the child naturally but Dr. Thampi refused and said that she was an advisor and she was already 6 and she could go home. “You need to understand and appreciate that I am an advisor, and it is after six o’clock and I could go home and leave a registrar to give this child!” He said and then forced the patient to use his forceps. Dr. Thampi said, “You need to do this because I don’t know what is going to happen to your child. You are putting your child at risk.” The woman agreed with reluctance and Dr. Shouted at Thampi and later said that the use of forceps damaged the face and head of his child. The patient said that she was very clear that she did not want forceps to use and she wanted to use C-section, but she was Dr. Thampi felt, which appeared very angry at the time of process and appeared on a warpath. Dr. Thampi said that he discussed the option of forceps distribution with the patient and when he expressed concern, he (the patient) did not refuse it. Dr. Thompie apologized for the trauma that the new mother had experienced, but refused to comment that it was “after six o’clock”.
