Legendary Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam re -joined his much awaited film ‘Thug Life’ again after 37 years of nickel, increasing expectations among fans. Starring Silambarson TR, Trisha Krishnan, Abhiram and others, the film discussed a lot and opened a strong on 5 June 2025. But after the weekend, its box office number began to decline rapidly. After opening with a strong 15.5 crore rupees, Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thug Life’ is now watching a recession. Despite the expectation of promoting in the weekend, the film continued to earn. It earned Rs 2.3 crore on Monday and Rs 1.8 crore on Tuesday. According to Sacnilk’s initial estimates, the film earned only Rs 1.25 crore on Wednesday (7 days), taking the total box office collection to Rs 42.25 crore.
Competition
A slight increase in earnings shows that thugs are still expected to bounce back. However, the coming days are important, as big releases like ‘Housefull 5’ are doing well, especially in Hindi speaking areas.

Plot
‘Thug Life’ tells the story of an old -growing gangster Rangaraya Sathivale who sets him on a revenge mission against those who cheated him – including his own brother, former colleagues and a man named Amar. As their need for vengeance is strong, film dives into the subjects of betrayal, electric sports and moral boundaries. One of the most talked about elements with Indrani (starred by Trisha Krishnan), a famous social media, is Sathivale’s extramarital affair.
