To inaugurate PM Chenab Bridge, Launch India News in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rs 46K-CR projects tomorrow

Jammu/Srinagar: In line with his commitment to promote rail infrastructure and connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chenb Bridge, will inaugurate the world’s highest railway arch bridge, and will flag two Vande Bharat vehicles for Utah on Friday (June 6).Apart from two important projects, PM will start several development initiatives of more than Rs 46,000 crore in Katra in Jammu, and will dedicate the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project to the nation. Officials said that he would inaugurate India’s first cable-Saved Rail Bridge, Fort Bridge in Rasi district.Large -scale developmental push comes at a time when Jammu -Kashmir Pahalgam is moving again under the terrorist attack and subsequent influence.Two days before the PM’s visit, LG Manoj Sinha said that the purpose of promoting infrastructure was to run the change of Jammu and Kashmir, increase standard of living and promote comprehensive economic participation. He said, “PM Modi has created an inclusive and lively future for Jammu and Kashmir. It has seen a new dynamics in every field and the inclusive growth has ensured that no section of the society is left behind,” he said.LG emphasized that the 272-km long USBRL, built at a cost of about Rs 43,780 crore, would enter a new era of development in Kashmir. Rail links, which include 36 tunnels spread over 119 km and 943 bridges, establish seamless all-visitor connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of the country, running the socio-economic integration of the region.Sinha said, “This historic railway line will unlock the capacity of Jammu and Kashmir and run unprecedented economic growth in remote areas,” it is a railway line for the future. “The Chenab Bridge, considered an engineering Marvel, is part of the USBRL. Built at an altitude of 359 meters from the Chenab River, it is a 1,315 meter long steel arch bridge that is an engineer to face earthquake and extreme air conditions.An official said, “Vande Bharat runs on the bridge through train, it will take about 3 hours to travel between Katra and Srinagar, will reduce the current journey time by two-three hours.”PM Modi will also have laid the foundation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence in Katra built at a cost of more than Rs 350 crore. This will be the first medical college in Rasi district.Officials said some other projects to be inaugurated on June 6 include road networks that would promote the final mile connectivity, especially in the border areas, officials said. PM will construct the foundation stone of a road wide project on NH -701 from Rafiabad to Kupwara and will construct the bypass road of a shop worth more than Rs 1,952 crore. He will also inaugurate two flyovers in Srinagar.
