Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court has supported the bid of a blind MBBS student to resume its course, this vision “needs to come not only from the eyes.”A single-judge bench on Tuesday directed the medical officials to create an expert panel to assess the capabilities of Ankita Singodia (23), who lost 100% vision in the 2017 car accident, causing severe head injuries. The panel is to suggest methods to help complete the remaining course.Justice Anoop Kumar Dhand said, “With the courage to take a strong vision, tireless hard work, and the courage to take a dip, people with visual loss can win challenges and thrive in their chosen areas.”Singodia, in Murlipura, Jaipur, enrolled in MBBS in August 2014 and completed two years before the accident. His lawyer said that in 2020 a medical board recommended that he continued, but later protested, cited his ability to discharge the duties of a doctor. He disqualified him against the order of January 29, 2021.Justice Dhand said that if the expert support the panel reports it, the authorities should resume it and provide necessary assistance including a scribe.
