Trump’s Trade War How to Erase Toilet Papers in America

Brazil’s top pulp exporter, Sujano SA warns that US President Donald Trump’s new tariffs are disrupting the shipment of a major material used in making toilet paper. The Brazilian company reported that the export of hard -witted wood pulp in the US had fallen by 20% in April compared to last year. This type of pulp is a major component in toilet paper and other hygiene products used in American homes. “In response to Tariff, we have to pass the increased cost to American buyers,” Sujano CEO Joo Alberto de Abreyu said Bloomberg News. Brazil, along with many other countries -with the boycott of China -now the US has to face 10% tariff on exports. The situation brings back memories of 2020 epidemic nervousness, when shelves, including toilet paper, were cleaned with essential things. While the products are available for now, suppliers have warned that a minor disruption can cause another congestion. Apollo Global Management has also raised the alarm. Its chief economist has predicted that Trump’s broad tariff policies – especially against Chinese goods – can trigger a recession by 2025 in summer, trimmed and even in summer. As Suzano continues to be adapted, the company warns that pulp is not just another raw material – it is necessary. If business stress increases, American consumers may feel results.
