Learning about her financial situation, the accused lured her into a fake business proposal, claiming that he could help in taking his enterprise internationally and arranged for money,” said Deshmukh.According to police, Shukla allegedly introduced the woman to her two so -called “Associates,” *Yavon Handyani *and *Vincent Quan *, who reportedly lived in Singapore. He convinced him to transfer money to various accounts in India and Singapore. Over time, the woman transferred Rs 3,60,18,540.Later, the accused claimed that he developed oral cancer and slowly cut into contact.“In September 2024, the woman received an email from ‘Vincent Kuan’, stating that ‘Dr. Ronit Oberoi’ had died. Suspiciously, she informed a friend who warned her for the possibility of cheating. Then she realized that she had reached the Puni Cyber ​​Police Station in November 2024, saying she said.Police confirmed that the accused was a resident of Perth, Australia. A case of cheating was registered, and a look-out circular was issued against him.Police came to know that he was reaching Mumbai from Singapore. A team led by Sub-Inspector Sushil Damre caught Shukla at Mumbai Airport and arrested him.“Technical analysis of the accused’s digital activity showed that he had messed up at least 3,194 women using the fake identity ‘Dr. Ronit Oberoi’ through the matrimonial site. The scope of fraud could be very large, and further investigation is going on,” said Deshmukh.
