The UAE has officially entered the hottest and dried phase of summer, ‘Jamrat al Qayath’, in which scorched temperature, dry winds, and rising humidity are expected to persist until August 10, according to major astronomers. Ibrahim Al Jarwan, president of the Emirates Astronomy Society and a member of the Arab Union for Space and Astronomy Science, states that Jamrat al Kayath represents the summer peak in the Arabian Peninsula.
- The temperature in desert regions may exceed 50 ° C.
- Hot, dry winds are known as “samoom” in some parts of the UAE.
- The duration is associated with seasonal heat waves, which pushes at least 3 ° C temperature from the standard for several days.
