New Delhi: Delhi High Court released on the release of the film Udaipur files on Thursday: Kanhaiya Lal Tailor Murder, which was ready to hit theaters on 11 July, until the central government decided to demand a permanent ban. The court directed the petitioners, who are accused of contacting the Center within two days in the murder of Udaipur -based tailor Kanhaiya Lal in 2022. He had argued that the release of the film would endanger the right to a fair testing and would provoke communal disagreement by challenging CBFC certification.A division bench of Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Anish Dayal said that the petitioners have not yet contacted the central government with an amendment application and therefore, could not seek judicial intervention at this level. The bench said, “Since we are re -charged to implement the amendment measure to the petitioner, we provide that unless the application for interim relief is decided by the government, the film will remain on the release of the film.”The court also paid attention to the recent comments by the Supreme Court. A top court bench refused to list a uniform petition immediately, with oral observation of “release of the film”. However, senior advocate Kapil Sibal, who was present for the petitioners, clarified that the Supreme Court had only rejected the request for immediate listing and did not review the case file or gave the decision on the stay on themselves. On Wednesday, the Delhi High Court directed the manufacturers to arrange the film screening for those who opposed it. The case is related to the murder of Kanhaiya Lal, which was allegedly shared by Mohammad Riyaz and Mohammad Ghaud in support of former BJP leader Nupur Sharma.
