Umrah made easy: Saudi Arabia allows GCC visitors to a year -long nonstop entry

Saudi Arabia has officially revealed the year -round access to the Gulf citizens and residents to demonstrate Umrah, which allows pilgrims from UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar to enter the state at any time. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Haj and Umrah, which confirmed that eligible pilgrims could apply for permits through the official narcotic application, streamlining the process for regional visitors.

Residents of GCC nations can demonstrate Umrah using various visa types, including:

  • Transit visa through partnership with Sodia Airlines and Flynus
  • Tourist visa Released through Ministry of External Affairs

This expansion provides more flexibility and easily access to the Gulf-based pilgrims who want to travel spiritual outside the traditional Haj season.

Part of Saudi Vision 2030 Target

The new policy aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to place the state as a global center for religious and cultural tourism. By reducing travel restrictions related to Umrah, the government is actively encouraging spiritual tourism as a major component of its economic diversification efforts beyond oil. The ministry highlighted that in a figure reported by the Saudi Press Agency, more than 190,000 International Umrah had issued visas since the end of the Haj season recently.

Unlike Hajj, which occurs during a specific period in the Islamic calendar and is mandatory for the eligible Muslims once a lifetime, Umrah is a non-respective pilgrimage that can be done at any time of the year.
