A person in Anantra, Uttar Pradesh has alleged that a piece of meat was found in a vegetarian food ordered online from a local restaurant, during the Hindu holy month of Shravan, the police said on Sunday.Dhirraj Singh, a resident of Magarwada and Sevadar in a local temple, said that he had placed an order from an online food delivery platform for dinner with his family and relatives on Saturday night. The order included Kadai Paneer, Paneer Fried Rice and Five Rumli Rotis.He received timely delivery but after opening the package, a piece of non-vegetarian food was found with vegetarian dishes.“Our whole family is vegetarian and eating meat is against our religious beliefs,” he said.Singh said that when he called the restaurant after getting his number from online food delivery platform, the management refused to accept the error and allegedly told him, “Whatever we are, we will see everything.”He later uploaded a video on social media, appealing to the district and state officials to take strict action citing the efforts of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, which should take strict action, citing efforts to honor religious norms during Sriman.Calling it a case about both health and faith, Singh said that the in -charge of the Magarwara police post approached him and sought a written complaint, which he presented.After the video surfaced, the UNNAO police posted on X that action would be taken after investigation of the complaint lodged at Kotweli Sadar Police Station.Police said that repeated efforts to contact the owner of the restaurant were unsuccessful as it was neither present at the outlet nor available on the phone.
