New Delhi: At least 11 Indian Army soldiers have gone missing after a flash flood triggered by a cloudburst by Harsil region of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) confirmed the incident on Wednesday as rescue efforts in the affected area were intensified.Dig Mohsin Shahidi of NDRF said, “Eleven army soldiers are reported to be disappeared after tomorrow’s flash flood in Uttarkashi region in Harsil.”The army has started a large -scale humanitarian aid and disaster relief (HADR) operation in response. Due to many road violations and collapse of a major bridge, the region is cut from both north and south, making the relief for relief teams complicated.More than 225 army personnel, including infantry and engineering units, have been deployed on the ground. Teams are conducting rescue, relief and search operations under difficult conditions. Seven specific teams are working with Rico radar near Tekla to locate the missing people.Search and rescue dogs have also been deployed in Harsil to help trapped or missing persons. To strengthen the operation, additional canine units are being brought from a romant and veterinary centers.The army said that the separation and continuous rains of the region have made the work extremely challenging, but efforts are underway to give relief to the affected people and find out the missing youth.So far, five people have died, 413 have been rescued, and in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, a disastrous Claudbst has a large -scale flash after floods and landslides, causing widespread destruction in Dharli and dry top areas on Tuesday, reported ANI.
