Video | The engine of the passenger train catchs fire in West Bengal. Bharat News

New Delhi: A passenger train engine caught fire near Gasal railway station in North Dinajpur, West Bengal on Tuesday. Officers reached the spot and the fire was brought under control.No casualties have been reported so far. RPF Inspector HK Sharma said, “The train was stopped due to the timely response of the driver and the guard and the fire could be completely controlled … there were no casualties in the incident.”It comes amid increase in train accidents in the last few months. Earlier this year, at least 12 people lost their lives in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra after stepping on the tracks after false rumors of a train fire. The incident occurred when the Pushpack Express made someone a unspecified stop after pulling someone an emergency series.
