New Delhi: Amitabh Kant, former Niti Aayog CEO and G20 Sherpa of India stepped down from their role, leading to a 45 -year career in public service. Announcing its resignation on social media, the experienced bureaucrat thanked the opportunity to serve the nation in several major roles in the decades.“After 45 years of dedicated government service, I have decided to embrace new opportunities and move forward in life. I am incredibly grateful to the Prime Minister of India to accept my resignation as G20 Sherpa and have given me an opportunity to run a series of developmental initiatives and contribute to India’s development, development and progress,” he wrote.In his post, Kant said, “I am now eager to contribute to India’s transformative journey towards Vikasit India by facilitating and supporting free enterprises, startups, think tanks and educational institutions.”The 1980 batch IAS officer Amitabh Kant of Kerala cadre played an important role in shaping major national missions like Make in India, Startup India, and ease of doing business during his tenure during his tenure as the G20 Sherpa during the President of India.
