Vipin shared that he visited Irrfan at the hospital on the same day that his chemotherapy started. He said, “I went to the hospital and went to the fourth floor. I was very happy to see a book next to my bed. Even in that condition, he was reading,” he said.
As in luck, both friends missed almost each other. “I was on my way and we crossed the way, he was entering the hospital. I remember a shawl wrapped around him. We hugged, and later sat together in his room for a long time. His humor was exactly the same. He was laughing loudly.”
Despite his illness, Irfan’s soul remained untouched. Recalling a moment from the hospital room, Vipin surprised: “His mini fridge was full of food. He said,” Dude, so much food! I am very hungry. People must not be thinking anything wrong with me, I am eating this way. “

Vipin explained how Irfan created a small, vibrant world inside the hospital, which was completed with television, OTT platforms and people who cared. He said, “There were some Malayali nurses, who often interacted with him. He used to play Hopscot and sometimes also played with him. They all knew him,” he said. “This was his small world – all TV channels, Netflix, his hospital room with Amazon Prime. Some of his friends arranged for him.”
“He was watching everything. He was a fighter,” Vipin combined with Bhavna. “I can’t describe the amount of that pain.
