New Delhi: After the notice of Chief Electoral Officers (CEO) of Karnataka and Haryana, the Election Commission has reiterated that Rahul Gandhi “still has time” he is either a formal announcement that he should support his “vote theft” allegations or “apologize to the country.”The CEO of Karnataka has asked the Congress MP to submit documents to support the allegations of “vote theft” against the Election Commission of India.In a letter on August 10, the CEO of Karnataka said that Rahul Gandhi claimed to submit documents from the ECI records during his press conference on 7 August, alleging that a voter Shakun Rani voted twice based on the data shown by a polling officer. The polling body said that in the initial investigation, Shakun Rani refused to vote twice, and the tick-marked document displayed by Rahul Gandhi was not issued by the polling officer, which increased doubt about its authenticity.The CEO of Karnataka has asked Rahul Gandhi to “provide relevant documents” to form the basis of his charge to conduct a detailed investigation by the state’s electoral officials.On August 7, citing internal analysis, the Leader of the Opposition said that the Congress had expected to win 16 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka, but achieved only nine. He said that the party focused on Mahadevpura and investigated seven unexpected losses, where he accused of theft of votes related to 100,250 votes.“We stole 100,250 votes in five different ways. Duplicate voters, fake and invalid addresses, and wholesale voters in the same address in a building with 50-60 people, but when we go there, there is no record of people living there. A family living in that house.”ECI, on Saturday, again asked the Congress MP to either make an announcement as per the rules or apologize to the country for “false” allegations about voter lists.
