“This bill is an attack on Muslims. The Modi government has launched a war on my freedom. My mosques, my dargahs, my Madras are on the goal. This government is not disclosing the truth. This bill violates uniform security.
“If you read history, you will see that he (Mahatma Gandhi) said about the laws of White South Africa, ‘My conscience does not accept it’ and he tore it. Like Gandhi, like Gandhi, I am also tearing this law. It is unconstitutional. It is unconstitutional.
BJP MP and Joint Parliamentary Committee chief Jagdambika Pal criticized Owasi, in return and accused them of tearing the bill and ‘unconstitutional talk’.
“I want to thank the government and all the members because this is the first time the government has accepted all the recommendations of this JPC. It is not a normal thing,” Pal said.
“Asasuddin Owaisi calls the bill unconstitutional, but he has done unconstitutional work by tearing the bill … I want to ask him why he tore the bill?” He asked.
Union Minister Amit Shah, to claim him in the first day that he would not even accept the bill, said that Owaisi’s outbreak had come.
“A member also said that even minorities will not accept it. Who are you trying to scare? This is the law of Parliament, everyone will follow it and accept it”. Shah said.
Amit Shah further clarified that Waqf is a charitable settlement and government properties cannot be donated. “Waqf Council and Board will now ensure that those exploiting those exploited,” he said.
