New Delhi: On Sunday, there was a conflict between the opposition-wax (amendment) act protesters and the police in the city city of Kachar district of Assam, a senior official said.

“Around 300–400 people protested by blocking the road. When we tried to clean the road, some of them threw stones at us. We had to use light lick-charge to disperse the crowd,” said the news agency PTI.
He said, “The region has been approved and a case has been registered. However, no one has been detained or arrested,” he said.
The scene of the protest site showed people shouting the slogan of “BJP Go Back”. The Bharatiya Janata Party is the ruling party at the Center and Assam.
The agitators, who had national flags and black flags, demanded the cancellation of the Act.
On Saturday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a press conference and said that the state police had a “strong intelligence” report, which could have “something disturbances” during the protest against the minority community against the Waqf Act.

Sarma said that the police force worked extensively to prevent any violence, suggesting “problems” after weekly prayers with intelligence report on Friday.
