Weapons seized from ISI -backed gang in Punjab Bharat News

Amritsar: Amritsar police stopped a cash of weapons and ammunition and arrested five persons on Sunday. SSP, Amritsar-Rural, Maninder Singh said that the police have destroyed a leading trans-border smuggling network of refined weapons and drug money operated by Pakistan’s ISI-supported handlers.Police said an AK Sigy Rifle with two magazines, two glock 9 mm pistols with four magazines, 100 rounds of ammo and drug money 7.5 lakh rupees, a car and three mobile phones, in addition to the police said.Police said the intercepted consignment was intended to distribute gangster Jaggu Bhagavanpuria a known associate Nav Pandori, indicating a comprehensive terrorist-gangter Nexus.Those arrested have been identified as Jobanjit Singh alias Joban, Gora Singh, Shessan alias Shahu, Sunny Singh alias Gan and Jaspreet Singh alias Motu. The SSP said that preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had direct relations with the Pakistan-based operators.
