‘Why did we have to wait for CD to speak from Singapore?’ Bharat News

New Delhi: Congress MP Jeram Ramesh on Sunday questioned dealing with the major military revelations of the Modi government, expressing disappointment that important information about Operation Sindoor was first revealed by Defense Employees (CDS) General Anil Chauhan instead of being transparent shared with political leaders at home.“Why did we have to wait for General Chauhan to make these revelations from Singapore?” Ramesh asked in a conversation with ANI. “It would have been better if the Defense Minister shared this information in two all-party meetings, which he presided over. It should have been brought to Parliament. We are going to be the mother of democracy.”The comment comes after General Chauhan, while talking to Reuters on the occasion of Shangri-La dialogue in Singapore, admitted that Indian forces suffered losses in the early stages of Operation Sindoor launched on April 22 in response to the Pahgam terror attack. He confirmed that those disadvantages were quickly addressed and after that the powerful counteratrics inside Pakistan were deep.General Chauhan said, “The initial stages were damaged on May 7, but we accommodated the strategy and returned with full force on 7 May, 8, and especially on 10 May, entered the Pakistani rescue and killed 11 of their 11 air conditions, including a single one near Islamabad.”The statement marked the first official approval of Indian casualties and the scale of India’s response, some Ramesh believes that India should have come directly from the government. In a historic comparison, the Congress leader recalled how former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had constituted a Kargil Review Committee in 1999, three days after the end of the struggle. He said, “K. Kargil Report prepared by Subrahmanyam and others was presented on 15 December 1999, and was included in Parliament by February 2000. It is transparency. It is a democracy,” he said that a copy of the report is titled ‘titled’ titled ‘titled’ titled ‘.Ramesh further argued that the operational details are handled correctly by military, comprehensive political issues, especially during Operation Sindoor by China-Pakistan Nexus revealed, it should be addressed in an all-party setting under the leadership of the Prime Minister.“There are military issues that only the army can discuss, but there are political implications – foreign policy, economic strategy, diplomacy – who demand comprehensive counseling. Why was the Parliament not informed? Silence at home and why statement abroad?”General Chauhan’s remarks in Singapore directly claimed the Pakistani that India stopped air operations after 7 May. He said that India intensified its reaction using fighter jets, drones and missiles to launch accurate attacks. One of the most notable was in Noor Khan Airbase near Islamabad on 10 May, which was described by PM Modi as a “new dawn in the middle of the night” during a speech at Adampur Airbase.Satellite imagery later confirmed India’s aggressive accuracy and scale, causing heavy damage to terrorist infrastructure and several Pakistani air locations. Pakistan had attempted ventilative attacks, but failed to cause comparable damage. The understanding of a ceasefire eventually reached on 10 May.Nevertheless, opposition leaders like Ramesh say that the lack of timely communication from the Defense Minister deteriorates the government’s commitment to transparency and democratic accountability.“We cannot take the risk of knowing about our own military operations through international conferences and foreign presses,” he said. “This government should improve.”
