New Delhi: In an important success in the case of Meghalaya honeymoon murder, the police have arrested Sonam Raghuvanshi, the missing wife of the deceased King Raghuvanshi, along with three alleged contract killers in connection with the murder.The case, which initially appeared as an investigation of a missing person, has now been carefully involved in the conspiracy to orkstred murder.
Did he arrest
The case took an unexpected turn when Sonam Raghuvanshi was found in Kashi Dhaba on Varanasi-Gazipur main road in Uttar Pradesh. According to UP ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash, “Sonam Raghuvanshi, Govindnagar Khadsa, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, at the age of about 24, was found in the Kashi Dhaba located on the Varanasi Ghazipur main road at night. He was sent to Sadar Hospital for preliminary treatment and then kept in a stop center.,Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad’s Sangma congratulated the state police for cracking the case, which surprised the nation.“Within 7 days, a great success has been achieved by #Meghalayapolice in the case of Raja murder … 3 The attacker who is from Madhya Pradesh, has been arrested, the woman has surrendered and the operation has still been conducted to catch 1 more … well,” he posted on X.In Gazipur, the police did not know whether Sonam reached Gazipur by road or train. The teams of both Meghalaya and Indore police are expected to continue the investigation and Sonam is expected to reach Gazipur to go to Meghalaya.
What did the owner of the Dhaba say
The owner of Kashi Dhaba in Gajipur said that at around 1 pm Sonam had reached her outlet and asked for her phone to call her brother. However, the owner of the Dhaba could not recognize him, seeing his condition, he alerted the police.“It was about late last night, around 1 o’clock when she was crying at the shop and asked to make a phone call. I asked her to sit there and then I called the police. The police took her with him. All this happened.”
Conflicting claim
Conflicting statements of various parties have identified the case. Sonam’s father contested the police version of the incidents, stating, “Why would my daughter do such a thing (kill her husband)? Meghalaya Police is lying. My daughter reached Gazipur on her own. He was not arrested in Meghalaya. ,Raja’s brother Vipin also questioned the official story: “The police have not made any arrests, and he has either not surrendered – all these rumors are spreading. The DGP is saying that he is a killer, but so far, Sonam has not been questioned properly. Nothing has been officially called.”
Timelines of incidents which transpired:
May 22: The couple reached Malakhiyat village and launched a 3,000-offer trek for Nongrit, known for their prestigious living root bridges. He spent the night in a homestay and was last seen examining the next morning the next morning.May 23: A search operation was started after the family lost contact with the couple. According to the police, the pair proceeded to the Mawlakit village without a guide, after checking out of the homestay. An official told PTI that the couple’s mobile phone was last traced to Mawlakhit. The same day, his rented scooter was released near a cafe along Shillong -Sora Road. Local villagers reported the case to the police, after which the police mapped the area that was visited by the pair.27 May: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav approached his Meghalaya equivalent, Conrad Sangma to assist the missing couple. Sangma assured Yadav that the Meghalaya police and administration were making every effort to trace him.02 June: The body of King Raghuvanshi was discovered in Meghalaya, while his wife, Sonam’s discovery was still going on. A blood -stained machet and a Sonam -like raincoat was seen in a scooter, he was also recovered from the scene.04 June: A woman’s white shirt, a strip of medicine, a part of the LCD screen of a mobile phone and a smartwatch were also seized on the spot, and a murder case was registered.06 June: The CCTV footage showed Raja and Sonam on 23 May arriving at the stage hotel in Sitasohpe’s stage on a scooter carrying a small suitcase. After being unable to secure a room, he left the suitcase in the hotel and left the premises.09 June: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma confirmed that four persons including Sonam Raghuvanshi were arrested. He said that the woman had surrendered to the police. Later, Meghalaya DGP Eye Nongong said Sonam was arrested in Gazipur, UP.
