Wildfire at Wetlands Park: More than 100 acres were burnt in Clarke County, Las Vegas, container efforts are underway

A large brush fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon in the Wetlands Park area of Clarke County, burning more than 100 acres and inspires an important multi-agency response reported by KTNV. Clarke County Fire Department (CCFD) and US Bureau of Land Management Blaze are making leading efforts. Additional local, state and federal agencies are also assisting, it is expected to continue working with the crew through Tuesday night.The fire is burning in a desert region in the north -east of the Old Silver Bowl Park near Weiser Way. Officials have urged the public to escape from the area including WB Bennett RC Airfield, while fire fighting operations continue.Nearby structures and residents are closely monitored by local departments, while large control efforts focus on brush fire itself.As a precaution, the Wetlands Park Nature Center has been closed. The center usually operates from Tuesday to Sunday, between 9 am to 3 pm.Earlier this month, another small fire in the park was burnt between 3 and 5 acres. Officials have not indicated any relation between the two incidents at this time.
