‘Will Rahul Gandhi face, Pelt Stones at Hiz Kafile’ will be: Savarkar stressed tension between Congress and Army (UBT). Bharat News

New Delhi: The Shiv Sena (UBT), a partner of Maha Vikas Aghdi (MVA), indulged in a political slugfest after an army (UBT) leader on Wednesday, who vowed to blacken Rahul Gandhi’s face for his ‘derogatory’ comments about freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar.Nashik City Unit’s Chief Army (UBT), Bala Darade, slammed Rahul to call Savarkar ‘Mafi-Wire’ and said that if he ever goes to meet Nashik, he would stoned in the convoy of Congress leaders.“We are proud that we live in the birthplace of Swatyaratya-Vir Savarkar. The statement about Savarkar of Rahul Gandhi, calls him ‘forgiveness-vera’, was derogatory,” Darde told a Marathi news channel on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hindutva Ideology. He said, “We strongly condemn it. If he comes to Nashik, we will darken Rahul Gandhi’s face. If we cannot do this, we will put stones on his convoy.”Nashik-resident Devendra Bhutada has filed a defamation case against Gandhi, claiming that some comments made by the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha against Savarkar hurt their feelings.Darade further said that he does not care about the consequences of his danger for MVA.Meanwhile, Army (UBT) spokesman Sushma Andhare claimed that Darade’s views were her own, not the official stand of the party led by Uddhav Thackeray. The Congress, however, strongly objected to Darad’s remarks and said that Congress workers are quite capable of dealing with such dangers. He said, “Rahul Gandhi’s father, late Rajiv Gandhi, and grandmother, late Indira Gandhi sacrificed their lives for the unity of India. The Congress and its leadership are not afraid of such dangers,” he told reporters. Congress Maharashtra unit chief Harshworn Sapkal said, “Rahul Gandhi did not make derogatory remarks against Savarkar.”He said, “His comments have historical references. Even (journalist and writer), a minister of Vajpayee government, Arun Shourie, has written a book on Savarkar, and most of the references of that book have said Rahul Gandhi. Our workers are capable of dealing with such dangers.”Former minister Yashomati Thakur also supported Rahul and said, “Rahul Gandhi only reiterated what has been written in history.”SENA (UBT) is a Congress ally in MVA, and both sides are also part of the opposition’s Group. In the 2024 assembly elections, the Mahayuti alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP won 235 out of 288 seats, in which BJP alone acquired 132. Shinde’s army won 57 seats and Ajit Pawar’s NCP got 41 seats. On the other hand, it was a disappointing show by Maha Vikas Aghdi (MVA), hoping for a grand return. Uddhav’s army secured 20 seats, Congress 16 and Sharad Pawar’s NCP won 10 seats.
