On World Environment Day, Cauvery Calling – A movement aimed at reviving the Kaveri River – a major milestone: 1.36 million plants planted in the last year. It launches the total counting since the launch, which has more than 12 million trees in the river basin, an area that supports more than 8 million people. The spiritual leader was started by Sadhaguru, but was operated on the ground on a large scale by farmers and community workers, the initiative promotes tree-based farming as an environmental decline and a long-term improvement to reduce farm income. Trees were planted on 34,000 acres in the Cauvery Basin. Around 2.38 lakh farmers have allegedly switched to tree-based agriculture-a change is seen as more climate-flexible and profitable in a long time. The long -term target of Cauvery calling is to plant 242 million trees on a private farm to help restore the flow of the river and improve the ground water level. It will also improve soil health, maintain water, and create buffer forms against climate swings. The key to the success of the initiative is one of the largest nurseries, the largest nursery that supplies the plant, in Tamil Nadu, which runs perfectly by women. It produces millions of subsidized, high-value wooden plant every year. These are distributed in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka through 50 regional centers. On the ground, field workers support the farmers through each stage – from assessing the depth of the soil to choosing the correct tree species. There is also a WhatsApp network and a helpline to answer questions, while agricultural scientists run training sessions to create local capacity.
