Acting Director of American Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Todd Leone, has said that any person living in the US will be arrested illegally. In a special interview with CBS News, Leone confirmed a fresh action on companies hiring unauthorized workers.Leon said that the Ice would prioritize the “worst worst”- a person with severe criminal records. But it said that arrest will not be exempted from arrest during immigration operation without prior crimes. He did not cooperate with ice to force the “sanctuary” cities and those who forces agents to enter communities. He told CBS News, “We would like to arrest criminal aliens in jail, but when local agencies do not eliminate them, we have to go out in the community,” they told CBS News. This has increased the so-called “collateral arrest”- even though they are not initial targets to individuals detained during the operation.Under the Biden administration, such arrests were largely affected. But in Trump back in the office, the scope of the Ice has become quite wide. Lyon, the head of the agency, said, “We have opened the entire aperture of the immigration portfolio,” it is “possible” with a new infusion of federal funds to deport 1 million people in a year. The ICE has already deported about 150,00 persons before January, including around 70,000 with criminal convicts. However, many of these crimes were minor-deficit violations or immigration related violations, CBS News said. While the administration demonstrates arrests related to serious crimes, the ICE has criticized for its strategy- including agents wearing masks, arresting refugees outside the shelter, and conducting large-scale raids at the workplaces.

Worksite raid – stopped under biden – resumed:

According to CBS News, recent functions have targeted Nebraska Meetpacking Plant, a Louisiana Racetrack and California Canbis Farms. More than 300 migrants, including 10 minors, were detained alone in the California raid.Leone insisted that employers would also be held accountable. “This is not a victim crime,” he said, forcibly pointing to matters related to labor and child trafficking. He vowed to chase criminal warrants against companies exploiting unspecified labor. “One hundred percent,” Leon confirmed when asked if Ice would work against such employers.
