Yoga Day in Uttarakhand: UTDB Border organizes yoga sessions in villages; Students and army personnel joined. Bharat News

On June 21, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) organized special yoga sessions in many remote villages near the Indo-China border as part of the government’s program of lively villages.The event was organized in villages including Maina, Malari, Jadung, Nilang, Harsil, Dugtu and Nabidhang, which were spread in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithorgarh districts. Local residents, school children, youth and army personnel attended a large number of sessions, coming together to practice yoga under the guidance of trained instructors.Yoga asana (posture), pranayama (breathing technique), and meditation in many activities including meditation. The objective of this initiative was to raise awareness about health and welfare in remote areas, while also promoting rural tourism and cultural engagement.Speaking about the program, Secretary of Tourism and CEO of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board said that the quiet and natural environment of Uttarakhand make it an ideal destination for yoga practices. He further said that efforts are being made to develop these lively villages as a hub of yoga tourism and local development, which will also open employment opportunities for local youth.UTDB has said that it will continue to organize such programs to promote the local economy and help support overall development in the border areas of the state.
