New Delhi: Foreign minister S Jaishankar spoke to his counterpart from Russia on Friday, Sergei lavarovAnd after the Pahalgam terror attack, discussed the stress of India and Pakistan, in which 26 people lost their lives.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, both ministers also discussed the schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest levels.
On 22 April, gunmen attacked innocent tourists, who were there to enjoy the beautiful beauty of “Mini Switzerland”. The attack, the deadliest in the valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike, targeted most tourists and claimed by a proxy resistance front (TRF), a Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Tiba (late). TRF later refused to participate in the attack.
The two ministers discussed issues of Russian-Indian cooperation and increase in Indian-Pakistani relations after the terrorist attack in Pahgam.
The Russian Federation said in a statement, “Sergei Lavarov called for the provisions of the 1972 Shimla Agreement and the announcement of Lahore of 1999 by political and diplomatic means called for a disagreement between New Delhi and Islamabad on a bilateral basis by political and diplomatic means.”
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the central government announced several diplomatic measures, such as closing the integrated check post (ICP) in the attic, suspending the SAARC Visa Rebate Scheme (SSES) for Pakistani citizens, 40 hours to return to their country and reducing the number of officers on both sides on both sides.
