Reddit Post claims that Zomato forced employees to order food from the app at least seven times a month
Reddit user as mentioned above R/Startupingia It was claimed that the food delivery platform is forcing its employees to order seven times a week, saying that “ordering from the contestants is restricted in the office”. The Redit post describes confusion at the leadership level. Rakesh Ranjan, CEO of Zomato’s food delivery business, allegedly asked the employees to “stay focused” and “Gate back on track” during a townhall, but were removed from the role only two days later.
The post also mentions an atmosphere of toxic work, where the subtlety and public criticism of the employees is common. “The only thing that keeps the company profitable is platform fees,” it claims, saying that long -term stability has been rarely focused on.
There are also growing issues with delivery partners, the user alleged. It states that many riders are underpaded and abandoned compared to contestants, which has increased delivery fraud and service outage. “Orders do not go offline because restaurants are not closed, but because no one is really available to pick them up,” posts say.
